ROME IN A DAY - BAROQUE ITINERARY

A day filled with visiting the most cherished sites in Rome.

Stroll with your guide through Rome’s historic center where you will discover layers of history. See popular sites such as the Spanish Steps, the iconic Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona with Bernini’s masterpiece Fountain of the Four Rivers.  Take a break to sit and enjoy an authentic Roman meal at one or Rome’s best restaurants.  Afterward your guide can point you in the direction of an entertaining art filled piazza like Piazza Barberini. or a nearby gelateria.

Continue on to visit the Vatican Museums filled with masterpieces by many of the worlds most esteemed Renaissance and Baroque artists, as well as works from Ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt.   Here you will find Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel along side works of Botticelli, Perugino and Bernini.  Exit directly to St Peter's Basilica, the largest Christian church in the world by interior measure.

The tour concludes at our Vatican office and official Vatican gift shop where you can spend time browsing for souveniors.

Additional Information: Tours of the Basilica are not permitted on Wednesday mornings or when special papal ceremonies are taking place. In these cases your guide will take you to St. Peter’s square and explain it from the outside. Security check is mandatory for everyone entering Vatican City. Passport not required although ID proving age associated discounts must be presented.

DRESS CODE REQUIRED FOR THE VATICAN: Knees and shoulders must be covered, sandals allowed
